A 22-year-old Bukomansimbi man has been arrested and handed to Bukomansimbi police for beheading his father after a simple row erupted between the two.
Rogers Lukyamuzi of Butemi village, Bukango sub-county in Bukomansimbi district is said to have been involved in a minor accident while riding a motorcycle belonging to his father Remegio Kasibante, 52, but ignored reporting the incident to his father.
Lukyamuzi, who is known to villagers as having a mental problem, asked his father for the motorbike to go and buy his drugs, and his father agreed but with orders for him to come back soon as he (father) was planning to use the bike to travel somewhere.
But as he was travelling back, Lukyamuzi got an accident and damaged the bike, but declined to report the matter to his father.
On learning of the matter from a third party, Kasibante went to his son’s house and began scolding him. In an angry mood, he picked a stick and began beating him, upon which Lukyamuzi picked a panga and sliced his father’s head off.
He remained standing by his father’s body and when villagers who arrived at the scene saw him stained with blood all over, they arrested him and forwarded him to police.
Bukomansimbi Assistant RDC, Joseph Luwaga condemned the act, and advised parents with mad children to always report to security agents to help take them to Butabika for treatment.
