The Police in Nwoya district have discovered a third illegally hidden gun by the thugs in a space of just one month.
According to the Nwoya District Police Commander, Robert Magombe, the latest rifle was found with eight rounds of ammunition.
Magombe said that it had been buried in a garden in Pakiya village, adding that a local farmer who was on his routine garden work recovered it and reported it to police.
The DPC said that they are having an ongoing operation targeting illegal weapons in the hands of the civilians. He therefore called upon the locals who are having illegal firearms to volunteer and hand them over to police before they are identified by the long arm of the law.
