Police Mount Search for 10-Year-Old Missing Child

The Police in Nsangi have mounted a search on the missing 10-year-old boy who got lost from his parents’ home after losing sh500 under unknown circumstances out of the sh1000 given to him by his step mother.

Luke Owoyesigyire, the deputy police spokesperson for Kampala Metropolitan Police has identified the missing boy as Mukwaya Kamada, a pupil at Ryan Nursery and Primary School, Bukomye Cell, Maya, Kyengera Town Council, Wakiso District.

Mukwaya is a son to Mukwaya Abdu Semadu of Bukomye cell in Maya, Kyengera Town Council, Wakiso district. It is alleged that he was on 25th June 2025 sent by her step mother Namakula Hafswa with whom he has been staying along with his father, to buy threads for sh500.

He was given a sh1,000 note but on returning, he was missing the sh500 change whereupon he was sent back to look for the missing money.

Owoyesigyire reports that the boy never returned home and has since gone missing.

The father, 40-year-old Mukwaya, a motor mechanic, filed a report at police whereupon the Territorial Police in Nsangi mounted an intensive search and investigation for the 10-year-old boy.

“Efforts by the family and local police to trace his whereabouts have so far been unsuccessful. His disappearance is being treated seriously, and an active investigation is underway,” said Owoyesigyire.

He also made a desperate appeal to members of the public who may have a hint on the whereabouts of Mukwaya Kamada to report to the nearest police station or contact Nsangi Police Division on +256 784 985207.

Preliminary findings indicate that the child had been staying with his father and stepmother, Namakula Hafuswa, following the separation of his biological parents, Mukwaya Abdul and Nalubega
