Seeta Accident Leads to Traffic Diversion

Other Vehicles from the city centre are advised to take the Naalya roundabout-Kyaliwajjala- Ssonde-Seeta to Mukono. Other drivers from Mukono side are advised to take Namiryamngo Road-Namanve Industrial Park- Jokas Hotel to Kinnawataka.

An early morning fatal accident involving four vehicles including a bus, a mobile concrete mixer, two vehicles including a UPDF truck, which occurred at Seeta near Victory Church along Kampala-Jinja highway, has resulted into a heavy traffic congestion.

Consequently, police have issued alternative access routes with trucks drivers from Jinja side advised to divert at Mukono and take the Kalagi-Gayaza-Kaleerwe interchange, while drivers from Kampala side are advised to take the diversion beginning at Kaleerwe interchange – Gayaza-Kalagi to Mukono.

Additionally, due to increased traffic expected because of the football match at Namboole Stadium, the situation is further compounded.

To ensure public safety & ease congestion, Michael Kananura, the Traffic Police spokesperson has advised all motorists to follow the alternative routes outlined below:

Alternative route from the city centre to Mukono are advised to branch off at Spear Motors Through Kinnawattaka, Jokas Hotel, Namanve Industrial Park to Mukono.

All road users are urged to be patient, follow traffic guidelines and co-operate with traffic officers on duty.
