The Police in Mukono are hunting for the panga-wielding men who waylaid the school director, severely cut and injured him and later took off with his phone.
Patrick Onyango, the Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson has identified the school director as Geoffrey Mayanja of Jesjonny Day and Boarding Primary School located at Ngandu Cell in Mukono Central Division, Mukono Municipality.
Onyango said the incident happened at around 5:00am on Wednesday October 15, 2025, when Mayanja was on morning jogging.
“Mayanja was severely injured by unknown thugs who were three in number, traveling on a bodaboda. Investigations have commenced and with some clues which will lead us to the assailants,” he said.

“We took him to the theatre and managed to control the bleeding. He was cut several times on the head, on the hand and legs,” she said.
Dr. Nannozi added that they recommended a CT scan for Mayanja to help them ascertain the magnitude of the damage to the skull and the brain.
Peninah Nakabuye, the wife of Mayanja said that he left home at 5:00am and went to school, but at around 5:25am, he received information about the incident.
Former Mukono Municipality Mayor, George Fred Kagimu showed dismay for the incident and tasked police to ensure that they intensify security in the known dark spots.
