Following the death of 25-year-old Caroline Nalubwama in the home of Kampala tycoon Bryan White recently his wife Daisy Nalunga has been arrested by police, and added to two female workers in White’s home who were earlier arrested shortly after Nalubwama’s death.

Nalunga was arrested last Friday following a lot of controversy and implicating evidence by eye witnesses who were around as Nalubwama passed on. KMP Police spokesperson Patrick Onyango confirmed that this brings to three the number of people arrested since Nalubwama’s death.

Many residents of Salaama Road are up to now contesting earlier statements that the deceased was burnt by a gas cylinder which compelled other people including Nalubwama’s father Tom Ssalongo Mutyaba, to demand for deeper investigations into facts surrounding the deceased’s death.

One of Bryan White’s neighbours in Badongo zone at Kyamula-Salaama, identified as Morine Nakkazi said an unnamed bodaboda cyclist who usually delivers supplies to this home, said the deceased was burnt with hot water, which also burned White himself who is currently undergoing treatment at Mildmay Hospital Lweza along Kampala-Entebbe Road.

The deceased sustained severe burns in the waist, genital area, thighs, and on the head, while White was scorched on both hands and legs, thighs and genital area. The contentious issue for police to iron out is, if it is true the two were splashed with hot water, who burnt them?

Preliminary sources indicated that although Bryan White and the deceased were lovers, Nalubwama used to stay in the servants’ quarters. Shrines with fetishes and religious antiques were also found in Bryan White’s homes. Nalubwama’s father Mzee Tom Mutyaba maintains that he has never been convinced that his daughter was not murdered, and that it is the reason he keeps visiting police to establish fresh findings concerning her death.

A friend of the deceased identified as Carol Babirye told Katwe police that they became friends with Bryan White while She was on ‘Kyeeyo’ and when she came back, they linked up and because Nalubwama was her friend, she used to go with her to White’s home, whereupon the two (Bryan and the deceased), became intimate.

Babirye says that although she was the first to get acquainted with Bryan, he later decided to chase her and remained with Caroline Nalubwama. “I left that place over a year ago and the next thing I heard was Nalubwama’s death,” Babirye said.

She suspects that it is possible that White’s wife Daisy Nalunga has been ignorant about the intimacy between her husband and Nalubwama because she adds, whenever the deceased and White felt like getting into more intimate meetings, they have been doing so in rendezvous outside the home.
