Three businessmen have been arraigned before Wakiso Chief Magistrates Court and charged with forcible entry, destroying crops and theft.

Arrested by the State House Anti-Corruption Unit, in collaboration with the Office of the DPP and police CID the suspects have been remanded till 3rd December 2025.

The three businessmen include; Ssempijja Edward, Bbaale Joseph, and Mirimu Ivan, a transport and clearing agent. They are alleged to have committed the offences together with other accomplices still at large.

It is alleged that they committed the offence between October 30 and November 4, 2025, at Kasanje Town Council in Wakiso District, where they are said to have engaged in violent acts to seize land comprised in Busiro Block 514, Plots 6, 10, & 12.

They are said to have gathered a mob before entering the land, which was occupied by Pontiano Kaweesa Ssengendo of Kamuli Industrial Estates Ltd, and unlawfully destroyed tree plantations, coffee trees, and other natural trees.

They also stole nine coffee milling machines motors, property of Kamuli Industrial Estates Ltd — worth approximately sh100m.
