The head of the Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) Daniel Odongo, executives of the board and those from the Ministry of Education and Sports (MoES) are today slated to brief the Minister for Education and Sports, Janat Kataha Museveni on the outcome of last year’s Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE), to pave way for setting the date for the official release of the results.
According to UNEB spokesperson Jennifer Kalule Musambu, the meeting was scheduled to take place at Nakasero State House at 2:30pm today. It is after this meeting that the minister will declare the date for release of the PLE results.

A total of 817,885 candidates sat for the 3rd and 4th November 2025 PLE in 16,140 schools countrywide, with 428,356 of them girls and 389,529 of them boys.
Of these, 522,039 who constitute 65%, and under government sponsorship in UPE schools and the rest numbering 295,846 who constitute 36%, sat the examinations inn privately owned schools. The number of 2025 candidates surpass the 2024 figure by 797,444.
