The Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Pakistan has issued a strongly worded statement condemning what it described as a “cowardly, hideous and barbaric terrorist act” targeting the leadership of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

In the statement released Sunday, the Embassy denounced the attack in the “strongest possible terms” and paid tribute to Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, describing him as a symbol of “bravery, resistance and steadfastness” whose lifelong devotion to independence and dignity shaped the course of the nation.

The message portrayed the late Supreme Leader as a historic figure whose struggle and endurance would be remembered for generations. Drawing a parallel to Imam Hussein, the statement referenced the events of Karbala, invoking themes of sacrifice and martyrdom deeply rooted in Shia Islamic tradition. According to the Embassy, such sacrifice strengthens rather than weakens the foundations of the state.

“The blood of the Great Leader,” the statement read, “has made the ever-green sapling of the Islamic Republic more fertile and resilient,” emphasizing that the country’s institutions remain intact and functional.

The Embassy stressed that Iran’s constitutional framework provides clear mechanisms for continuity of governance and leadership. It underscored that the nation would proceed in accordance with its Constitution to ensure stability, unity and resilience during the transition period.

Reaffirming solidarity with what it called the “noble aspirations of the Islamic Revolution,” the statement concluded with a pledge that the country would continue on its political and spiritual path with determination, asserting that leadership succession would occur through established legal processes.

However, no further official details regarding the circumstances of the attack were included in the statement.
