Night Police Patrol Nabs Armed Suspects Near Total Petrol Station

Police in the Kampala Metropolitan Area have arrested two suspects who were found armed with a panga near the Total petrol station in Kabuusu, Lubaga Division in Kampala district on the night of 26th February 2026, following a swift response to a tip-off from a vigilant private security officer.

According to preliminary reports, at around 9:00 p.m., a vehicle bearing registration number UBG 514R approached the petrol station, briefly stopped, and then drove away. Approximately ten minutes later, the same vehicle returned and dropped off two men opposite the station before speeding off.

The unusual movements caught the attention of the operations manager of Folalicon Security Company, who was monitoring the area. He observed the two men behaving suspiciously and noticed that one of them was armed with a panga. Sensing potential danger, he quickly moved to alert police officers who were on beat duty at the traffic lights in Kabuusu.

Motorcycle patrol officers responded without delay. Acting on the description provided, they intercepted the two suspects a short distance from the petrol station. Upon conducting a search, officers recovered a panga in their possession.
