Police in Katwe Division have successfully foiled an aggravated robbery attempt at Nesta Petrol Station along Salaama Road in Salaama Parish, Makindye Division, authorities have confirmed.
According to a statement issued by Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson Rachael Kawala, the operation was carried out following timely intelligence received on April 26, 2026, indicating that a group of individuals was planning to stage a robbery at the fuel station.
“Acting swiftly on this information, our task team responded immediately to the scene,” Kawala said. “The coordinated response led to the arrest of three suspects before the planned crime could be executed.”
Police also recovered four pangas, believed to have been intended for use in the attempted robbery. The suspects are currently in custody as investigations continue.
Kawala commended the quick response of the officers involved and emphasized the importance of community cooperation in crime prevention. “This success underscores the value of intelligence-led policing and the continued support from members of the public,” she added.
