A fugitive prison warder, Moses Anguyo, who allegedly shot and killed a Deputy Officer in Charge of Prisons along with two other individuals at Kiboga Prison, has been arrested in Aru by security agencies.
Anguyo had been on the run following the incident, evading capture for three weeks. His arrest comes shortly after authorities announced a bounty of sh10m for information leading to his apprehension.
According to Josephine Angucia, the Police Spokesperson for West Nile, Anguyo was extradited to Arua, where he is currently being held in police custody as arrangements are made to transfer him back to Kiboga District.

“Police in Arua District (Vurra), together with prisons officers from Arua District and Headquarters, have been coordinating this arrest. So far, three people have been arrested—two of them his brothers and a girlfriend—who provided leads to his capture,” Angucia said.
She added that Anguyo remains in custody under West Nile Police as efforts are underway to transport him to Kiboga, where the crime was committed.
“Efforts to take the suspect to Kiboga District are ongoing. A detailed update will follow soon,” Angucia noted.
Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the killings as the case progresses.
