St. Francis Health Sciences Graduands Begin Gown Collection Ahead of 13th Graduation

According to the school’s Internal Auditor and Public Relations Officer, Simon Ssebakijje, more than 500 students are expected to graduate on May 21, 2026.

Excitement is building at St. Francis Schools of Health Sciences in Namataba as graduands begin collecting their academic gowns ahead of the institution’s 13th graduation ceremony.

The ongoing exercise marks a significant step toward the culmination of years of study for students pursuing certificates and diplomas in various health-related disciplines. The campus has been abuzz with activity, as students gather to finalize preparations for the milestone event.

According to the school’s Internal Auditor and Public Relations Officer, Simon Ssebakijje, more than 500 students are expected to graduate on May 21, 2026. He noted that preparations for the ceremony are in advanced stages, with gown collection serving as a key moment in the countdown.

“This is an important moment for our students. It reflects years of commitment, hard work, and resilience as they prepare to join the health workforce,” Ssebakijje said.

Graduands expressed both excitement and reflection as they picked up their gowns, with many voicing appreciation for the institution’s role in equipping them with practical skills and knowledge. Several students highlighted their readiness to contribute to Uganda’s healthcare system, particularly amid growing demand for trained professionals.

Others acknowledged the challenges encountered during their studies, including financial constraints and the rigorous nature of health sciences training. Despite these hurdles, they described the upcoming graduation as a rewarding culmination of their efforts.

The 13th graduation ceremony is expected to draw families, faculty, and key stakeholders from the health and education sectors. The institution continues to position itself as a significant contributor to the training of mid-level healthcare professionals in Uganda.
