A dramatic moment reportedly unfolded during the swearing-in ceremony of President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni after celebrated Ugandan musician and Presidential Advisor Edrisa Musuuza popularly known as Eddie Kenzo was allegedly stopped from sitting in the section reserved for ministers and top government officials.
According to eyewitness accounts, Kenzo had taken a seat near his wife, State Minister for Mineral Development Phiona Nyamutoro, believing he would be allowed to remain in the VIP area due to his status as a Presidential Advisor and spouse to a cabinet minister.
However, protocol officials reportedly intervened and instructed the singer to vacate the seat and relocate to another section designated for invited guests. The incident attracted attention from attendees, with photos circulating online appearing to show Nyamutoro trying to engage officials as her husband was being redirected.
The awkward moment quickly sparked reactions on social media, where many Ugandans debated whether Kenzo deserved access to the ministers’ section or whether protocol rules had simply been enforced without favoritism.
