Students, parents, and members of the community in Kayunga District have expressed shock following the circulation of private images and videos allegedly involving a staff member at Uganda Martyrs Secondary School, a Church-founded institution.
The staff member, identified as Josephine Namubiru, is reported to serve both as a teacher and secretary at the school. The nude images and videos, which circulated widely on social media over the weekend, sparked discussions among parents, teachers, and residents about their potential impact on the school’s reputation.
Sources at the school said staff members were seen discussing the matter as concerns grew over how the incident could affect the institution, which has an enrollment of more than 1,000 students.
When contacted for comment, the head teacher, Joseph Ssemwanga, said he had been surprised by the development and confirmed that the matter was being handled through administrative channels. He added that the school had identified the source of the leaked material and was addressing the issue internally.
Kayunga District Education Officer Dr. Dan Bubaale also expressed concern after learning about the incident. He said his office would investigate the matter and take appropriate action based on the findings.
A member of the clergy attached to Kayunga Catholic Parish, under whose administration the school falls, declined to comment on the issue.
Investigations into the circumstances surrounding the circulation of the images are ongoing.
