Prominent Muslim preacher and Da’wah personality Sheikh Shafik Mafo has been injured in a road accident in Masaka District.
The accident involved a vehicle in which Sheikh Mafo was travelling alongside several other sheikhs. The circumstances surrounding the crash were not immediately clear.
Following the accident, Sheikh Mafo and the other occupants were rushed to Byansi Hospital in Masaka, where they are currently receiving medical treatment.
According to Sheikh Mafo, he sustained head injuries and is experiencing severe chest pain. The condition of the other sheikhs involved in the accident has not yet been officially disclosed.
The incident has sparked concern among members of the Muslim community and followers of Sheikh Mafo, with many sending prayers and messages wishing him and the other victims a quick recovery.
