The angry mob in Mukono district have lynched two suspected electricity wire thieves who had made it a habit of cutting electricity wires from different villages leaving them in darkness.
The residents say they spent the whole Sunday night chasing after the gang of thieves that had evaded different villages in Kyampisi sub-county in Mukono district cutting electricity wires and loading them in their vehicles.
Though a big number of them managed to disappear with their vehicle, they managed to arrest two of them who were badly beaten and cut before setting them on fire.
The mob incident is said to have happened at Namulaba village. Police from Naggalama Division turned up and loaded the bodies of the deceased on a police patrol and took them to mortuary at Mulago hospital for postmortem examination.
The bodies which were beyond recognition were not identified by anyone in the area.
Police is yet to come up with a statement on regards to the incident.
