Mukono District Local Government remembers with profound respect and honour, the late Ssaabalangira Godfrey Kikulwe Musanje, a distinguished public servant and cultural leader.
The late Ssaabalangira Godfrey Kikulwe Musanje who on Tuesday morning succumbed after a long period of pneumonia, is expected to be laid to rest on Thursday, 5th January 2026, at Kitegula village in Kasawo Town Council, Mukono District.
According to a team of the Buganda’s Royal Clan (Olulyo Olulangira) members headed by Omulangira Gomotoka, the tentative burial programme indicates that on Wednesday 4, January 2026, a Holy Mass to commemorate the life of the late Ssaabalangira will be held at St. Mary’s Cathedral, Rubaga (Mutesa Road, Kampala) at 3:00PM.

He served as District Councillor representing Kasawo sub-county for several elective terms, that is 1993–1996, 1996–2001, and 2001–2006, during which he also served as Chairperson of the District Health Committee.
From 2006–2011, he was appointed Secretary for Health of Mukono District Council, and later from 2011–2016, he continued serving as District Councillor for Kasawo sub-county, alongside chairing the Health and Education Committees.
Following his appointment as Ssaabalangira, he withdrew from active politics but remained a strong pillar in community health development programmes in the district.
He tirelessly advocated for improved health services, including campaigns for the establishment of Health Centre II facilities in every sub-county, significantly strengthening grassroots health service delivery in Mukono District.
Mukono District Local Government extends its heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family, the Balangira Clan, and the people of Kasawo sub-county.
