Rotarian Godfrey Wayengera, 45, who was also the Director of Beloved Daycare and Nursery School Nsuube in Mukono Municipality, was on Monday evening abducted together with his wife while they were travelling in their car TOYOTA Fielder Registration number UBP 520A.

Armed thugs donning UPDF military fatigue waylaid them as they approached their home, drove them towards Kyungu in Mukono Central Division, where he was killed and dumped, while the assailants proceeded with the wife Christine Najjabi.

She was later found abandoned in Jinja-Misindye in Goma Division where they also dumped the car. Wayengera’s body was found lying by the roadside, while Najjabi was rescued by sympathisers. According to the Defence Secretary for Nsuube Cell, Warren Tusingirwe where the couple resided, the murderers seemed to be only interested in the deceased’s life as they later abandoned the car and his wife.

Wayengera’s murder is an addition to earlier ones including that of Maria Nagirinnya’s and her driver Ronald Kitayimbwa who were hijacked from, Lungujja, murdered and their bodies dumped in Mukono.
