As court was processing divorce papers for the couple, the pastor’s lawyer advised him to push for a DNA test for their three children, whereupon the wife, even before the test, went ahead and told him that he was not the biological father of the youngest child.

The woes of Apostle Dr. John W. Mulinde of the World Trumpet Mission at Sseguku began in 2010, six years after his marriage with Sheila Jasmine Mulinde in 2004, when he caught her red handed in an affair with another man.
The story went viral in the media but the man of God did not want to cause a stir and kept the matter in a low tone for the sake of maintaining his status as a pastor and trying to keep their marriage’s dignity.
Later, he was served food laced with poison at home and he narrowly survived death. Still the man of God drove him to plead with followers to keep a low profile over the matter, despite the fact that there was a police report to that effect.

Conceding that the matter had gone a bit too far since it involved attempts at taking his life (although there is no proof that it was his wife who administered the poison to him), Mulinde realized he could no longer co-habit with her and filed for a divorce. Subsequently, in 2015 they agreed to a divorce but still did not go public about it, and he continued providing for her and their three children.
As court was processing divorce papers for the couple, the pastor’s lawyer advised him to push for a DNA test for their three children, whereupon the wife, even before the test, went ahead and told him that he was not the biological father of the youngest child. And the last straw was a report after the DNA test for the other two children indicated that even the second child was not Mulinde’s.
To cast the burden off his heart, Mulinde last week held a meeting with leading Pentecostal church pastors at Lweza in Wakiso district, and narrated his ordeal, which left many confused. In May, the court officially declared a separation of the two, although according to sources, they have been separated for close to ten years.

On May 22nd 2025, the two signed, before court, an agreement officially separating them as husband and wife, and she was directed to stop forthwith, damaging statements she has been making about Mulinde, that all the time they have been together, he has been engaging her in sodomy. It was also declared that the two children found not to have been fathered by the pastor relinquished the name ‘Mulinde’.
He was directed to pay a sh35m gratuity to her for the period they were staying together as husband and wife.
The only unfortunate bit in this matter is the fact that the only son, whom Apostle Mulinde had with the wife, Sheila, Pr. Gideon Mulinde died in September 2021 under mysterious circumstances. Pr. Gideon was buried in Mukono district.
