The Kaliro District woman Member of Parliament, Brenda Namukuta has cried out for Speaker’s protection over her husband who is seriously mistreating her.

Namukuta called for protection inside parliament and asked the Deputy Speaker Thomas Tayebwa to assist her with some of his personal security detail to watch over her life saying her husband is likely to end her life through the beatings and other forms of torture.

It is alleged that the husband also forces the female legislator into sexual intercourse against her will.

The MP alleged that the most recent battering was due to the fact that her man didn’t like the idea of her shunning the motion to censure the parliamentary commissioners that included NUP’s Mathias Mpuuga and other three from the NRM.
“He beat me recently when I didn’t support the Ssekikubo motion,” she claimed. “I need parliament to protect me from my violent husband,” she ranted.
