He said that to-date, relatives are wondering whether the deceased was not killed and the body later dumped in his house, not poisoned or what!

Haji Yusuf Mulondo, the deceased’s father addressing the gathering during the Dhuwa organized after 40 days of Walugembe’s demise.

Haji Yusuf Mulondo, a resident of Nakifuma town in Nakifuma-Naggalama town council in Mukono district, and father to late senior police officer, SP Musa Walugembe who was on September 3rd 2025 found dead in his house at Najjanankumbi in Kampala, has expressed dissatisfaction over the snail speed in police investigations into facts surrounding his son’s death.

Speaking on behalf of the family from his home on Thursday 13th November 2025, Haji Mulondo cited inexplicable issues especially the state in which the deceased’s body was found which he says leaves many questions unanswered.

He said they were taken aback because shortly before his death, Walugembe was in perfect condition, and wondered how the body, which was discovered in the early morning hours, was swollen and beginning to rot. “We had hoped for fast action but since burial, there is no communication from police which leaves us dissatisfied,” he noted.

Mzee Mulondo is particularly aggrieved that his son’s death was not accorded the due respect, given that he had just been promoted to the rank of Superintendent, a post his father asserts he had vigorously worked hard to achieve.

He expressed the opinion that police should have mounted thorough investigations and, along that line, opened a police file into the matter.

“We organized dhuwa prayers for the deceased after 40 days of Walugembe’s demise, we duly wrote a letter to the IGP Abbas Byakagaba informing and inviting him of the same, but we were astonished not to either see him in attendance or a representative, let alone send any message possibly giving us assurances of steps taken to establish facts about the deceased’s death,” Mulondo lamented.

He appealed to police authorities to pick interest in his son’s death and accordingly furnish the family with what is on the ground.

An executive in the Islamic fraternity in Greater Mukono region, Haji Umar Ddumba echoed Haji Mulondo’s outcry, when he said that even during burial, no postmortem report was given to mourners or the deceased’s family members.

“The deceased’s body was in a terrible state and we prayed for him with the body still lying in the ambulance that delivered it, and nobody ever got the opportunity to look at it,” Ddumba said.

He said that to-date, relatives are wondering whether the deceased was not killed and the body later dumped in his house, not poisoned or what! He says their pleas have been met with promises of investigations still going on, and that they have now abandoned attempts of seeking justice.
