Veteran journalist and former host of Voice of America’s “Straight Talk Africa,” Shaka Ssali, is dead.
Ssali (71), fled Uganda in 1976, earned a doctorate from UCLA and received numerous accolades, including a United Nations Peacekeeping Special Achievement Award in International Journalism.
He retired in 2021 after a distinguished career. His contributions to journalism and dedication to African issues leave a lasting legacy.
