In a bid to improve the livelihoods of police officers and their families, the Directorate of Welfare, Production and Sports has handed over 2,000 chicks to officers in Busoga East and Albertine South regions.

The initiative aims to promote self-reliance and increase household incomes through sustainable projects.

SSP Ochaki Godwin, the Head of Production at Police Headquarters Naguru, oversaw the distribution, emphasizing the importance of empowering police families.

“This is part of our ongoing efforts to strengthen the welfare and well-being of our officers,” he said.

The chicks are expected to mature into egg-laying hens, providing a steady source of income for the officers and their families.

This move is seen as a significant boost to the officers’ economic stability and a testament to the police force’s commitment to supporting its personnel.
