KCCA Bans Bodaboda Stages on Several Roads in City Centre

In preparation for the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) and G77+China summits, Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) has removed bodaboda stages from a number of roads in Kampala City Centre.

Some of the affected roads include; Parliamentary Avenue, Nile Avenue, Wampewo Avenue, Kafu Road, Lukuli Road, Wavamunno Road, Mbogo Road, Muyenga Road and Ggaba Road among others.

However, the bodabodas are still allowed to use these roads during their daily day-to-day routine.

Occasionally, KCCA authorities over the years have been warning to reduce on the numbers of bodaboda stages in the city centre but they were always failing to effect implementation.

It is not known whether after the NAM and G77+China summits the affected bodaboda stages will be reinstated or not.
