Ssentongo also said that Col. Ssegujja has routinely asked him to report to the State House at Nakasero where he is wanted to explain how he accessed military stores in his possession.
IGG Orders Dismissal of District Natural Resources Officer Over Forged Academic Documents
Kasawo sub-county chairperson, Rajab Ssentongo Mukasa has asked the UPDF First Infantry Division commander, Maj. Gen. Steven Mugerwa to prevail over his junior officers who are failing their work as political leaders by tarnishing their names before the electorate.
Ssentongo, who doubles as the Kasawo NRM chairperson first made a blanket allegation saying himself, he is almost failing to do his work by one of the UPDF senior officers in the district who is after his downfall.
“My personal security is compromised; I get endless calls from this very army officer asking me to report to the State House Nakasero to record statements. Among other baseless allegations against me, is that I illegally have army uniforms and a gun. I am publicly asking you Gen. Mugerwa to investigate this matter to its conclusion so that I can gain some peace,” he said.

The chairperson was latter asked to mention the person whom he was accusing of doing a witch-hunt to him and he pointed at the UPDF Greater Mukono Zonal Intelligence Officer (IO) Lt. Col. Moses Ssegujja whom he allegedly accused of tarnishing his name by branding him as a person lacking in integrity, and in effect reducing his personality to questionable levels before the public.
The above drama unfolded during a security meeting convened by Maj. Gen. Mugerwa attended by all security heads in Mukono Police division, civil servants, religious, political and local leaders, to review the security situation in the area.
The chairperson who was uncontrollably angry, blamed the Lt. Col. Ssegujja for continually telling people that he (Ssentongo) is a masquerader and has military uniforms and other army items which he allegedly uses to extort money from relatives of people in detention, saying he has the capacity to talk to high authorities.
Ssentongo also said that Col. Ssegujja has routinely asked him to report to the State House at Nakasero where he is wanted to explain how he accessed military stores in his possession.
SFC Soldier Dies in Military Custody, Family Demands Justice
“I wonder why he does not come down and conduct a search in my house to recover the military uniforms he alleges that I possess; my dignity has been so degraded that when I make attempts to find out from police under what circumstances certain people were jailed, I am rubbished as a mere land dealer, which further complicates execution of my duties as leader of the ruling party,” Ssentongo who was almost in tears said.
UPDF senior officers accompanying Gen. Mugerwa with some drawn from the TOKORA Brigade went into a mini closed meeting with the two Ssentongo and Col. Ssegujja.
Later in an interview, Ssegujja admitted that he had asked Ssentongo to report to security officials to explain claims that he had military equipment in his possession. He also confirmed that Ssentongo has ever been jailed for extorting money from district leaders and other people under dubious circumstances
Though Maj. Gen. Mugerwa concluded by asking the two parties to amicably settle their differences, Ssegujja, who was reserved in his comment, told journalists, “I am not going to compromise my security obligations because of one person with personal interests”.
