The police in Mukono are holding a man who beheaded his ex-girlfriend and arrested with the head together with the witchdoctor.
Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson, Patrick Onyango has identified the deceased as Jackline Nyawede, who was vending roasted gonja at Namawojjolo roadside market, residing at Namawojjolo East village in Nama sub-county, Mukono district.
Onyango identified the suspects as; Abu Muyagu (28), the ex-boyfriend to the deceased, Mubarak Kizito (34), a witchdoctor and James Bakkabulundi (28), who are residents of Wakiso village in Nama sub-county.
The police mouthpiece Onyango told Kyaggwe TV that on April 27, 2025, police received a disappearance report by Nyawede’s workmates and that upon tracking his mobile phone number, it revealed contact with Muyagu, her ex-boyfriend before it went off.
“Police officers from Mbalala Police Station therefore swung into action leading to Muyagu’s arrest and the other two suspects including a witchdoctor,” he revealed.
Onyango said that a search from Muyagu’s home yielded the recovery of the deceased’s phone and a human head wrapped in a polythene.

Noah Katuka, the village chairperson for Nawojjolo East said that on Saturday, he received Nyawede’s relatives from Kibuku, her home district and led them to police which referred them to Mulago Hospital mortuary to pick her remains so that they could organise her decent burial.
