Second year law student at Kampala International University (KIU) Naome Nyabeyishiki is alleged to have recently told her colleagues that she was going to visit her lover at Nsambya. Since then, her mobile phones went silent which prompted her parents to file a report at Kabalagala police.

When the phones were switched on again, the person who received the call informed them that the body of the owner of the hand set was lying in Mulago Hospital mortuary.

Reports indicate that they agreed with her unnamed lover to terminate her pregnancy but that she developed complications and so rushed to Safe Medical Clinic at Katwe in Nkere zone.

Police sources indicate that Dr. Moses Bwogi who operates Safe Medical Clinic was arrested on 12th July 2025, and that he informed police that the deceased was unaccompanied when she visited his clinic.

He added that on realizing that she was in a critical condition, he hired a taxi and rushed her to Kawempe but that she died on the way.

Investigators established that Dr. Bwogi duped Mulago mortuary managers that he had collected the body from Nkere zone police at Katwe, whereupon they admitted to register and store it. Unfortunately, by press time even the taxi that transported the body to Mulago had not been retrieved.

Nyabeyishiki was buried at Kachere village in Rakai, with prayers to police to intensify investigations and find whoever is behind her death.
