Alvin who sat his S6 exams at Lubiri Senior Secondary School has been staying with his mother at Wakaliga after his parents’ separation. It is alleged that the deceased scored 10 points, something which did not please the mother who tried to show her discontentment to him.

Alvin, who had received his UNEB results on Friday, left his mother’s home on Saturday without notifying anyone and they thought he was coming back home as usual. Unfortunately, he did not come back, something which prompted the parents to report the matter to Police on Sunday.

Upon checking on Police cameras, Alvin was last sighted at Bunnamwaya. According to Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson, Patrick Onyango, residents at Kasenyi, Muhamud’s Beach on Monday March 17, 2025 at 4:00pm notified police about a dead body of an adult person which was floating on the lake.

“Police responded, retrieved the body and transported it to Mulago City Mortuary for a post-mortem examination. Later, relatives of the deceased contacted the police, identified the individual, and requested permission to proceed with burial arrangements, promising to report back to the police to provide a formal statement. Entebbe police agreed to their request,” Onyango said.

The number of students committing suicide is growing day by day.

It was reported that Alvin used to go to Ntare fields every evening and returned home to no bathing.

And when the parents tried to compel him to bathe saying enough was enough after he had taken 4 days of missing out, he got angered and decided to take poison which ended his life.
