Kayondo appreciated Nabuyungo for the untold love she had for her teaching job as well as commitment to the Catholic faith.

The Vicar Genera of Lugazi Catholic Diocese, Msgr. Richard Kayondo has said the late headmistress for St. Joseph’s Mixed Primary School Naggalama in Nakifuma-Naggalama Town Council in Mukono district Mary Josephine Nabuyungo has left a deep vacuum in the work of the diocese, especially in her voluntary responsibility in organizing meetings.
Kayondo appreciated Nabuyungo for the untold love she had for her teaching job as well as commitment to the Catholic faith.
This was contained in the Vicar General’s eulogy during a sendoff mass organized at the Diocesan headquarters in Lugazi, a day before her burial at Seeta-Namanoga in Seeta-Namuganga sub-county in Mukono district.
Nabuyungo, who has been a central pillar in the day-to-day activities of the diocese and was the Diocesan Secretary, died last week at St. Francis Naggalama Hospital after being hospitalized for a relatively long period, and was buried on Saturday.

Msgr. Kayondo led the mass which was sung in Nabuyungo’s honour in Lugazi Cathedral, and was attended by the Bishop Christopher Kakooza and Bishop Emeritus Dr. Mathias Ssekamanya, who appealed to Catholics to emulate Nabuyungo who he said unreservedly loved and served the church.
The head of laity in the diocese, Dr. Augustine Kato praised Nabuyungo as a person who had tirelessly and selflessly served the education sector and her church, while the President for the Catholic Women fraternity in Uganda, Maria Assumpta Gidudu said her loss has created a big setback.
