The Police Director for Human Resource and Training, Kafeero thanked Global Junior Schools for providing, as an eye opener, the marathon which he noted should be turned into a routine for everybody, arguing that everybody needs to have a healthy body.

The Director for Human Resource Development in the Uganda Police Force, Moses Kafeero has urged Ugandans to begin conducting physical fitness exercises, body drills and jogging as a means of keeping at bay opportunistic ailments in their bodies.
He was addressing teachers, parents, learners and friends of Global Junior Schools’ Kyaliwajjala and Mukono campuses, before flagging them off for over ten-kilometre marathon organized as a precursor to the schools’ platinum jubilee falling on Saturday November 8, 2025.


Kafeero was the chief runner at the marathon that started at the schools’ main campus at Nassuuti zone in Mukono Municipality.
The marathon was organized under the theme: ‘Celebrating Two Decades of Holistic Impact Nurturing the Future’, sponsored by JESA and Centenary Bank. The runners defied the early morning drizzle and sprinted through Mukono town up to the district headquarters, Mukono UG Prison Road and converged at Ntaawo MUZARDI playground.

“Please everybody, especially parents, make this a routine exercise because you all need good health; this is how to keep diseases at bay,” he advised.

The headteacher for Mukono campus, Anthony Kato Ssentongo said that as part of the day’s activities, they were donating to the needy, the aged and people with disabilities, and items donated included wheelchairs, mattresses, blankets, food stuffs, clothing and other items.
He said, “Because we yearn for unity and wellbeing of communities around us, we engaged in a door-to-door exercise, in collaboration with local community and religious leaders, to identify befitting beneficiaries,” he said.
They also donated chairs to churches and a water tank to Nsambwe COU.
