Man Sets Self On Fire at Parliament

Police have started investigating circumstances in which a yet to be identified man set himself on fire near the main gate of the Parliament of Uganda on Wednesday.

According to an eyewitness, the man who is in his 30s soaked himself with petrol before igniting the flames a few meters from the parliament entrance.

The reason for his attempted suicide act however remains unclear. The victim has been putting on yellow trousers.

Police officers at the scene quickly intervened, and the victim was rushed to the hospital for medical attention.

Authorities from either police or parliament are yet to give a comment and further details pertaining to this incident.
