On the forthcoming general elections, the district NRM boss assured supporters that unlike 2021 when they embarked on the election process without prior arrangement, today they are set for the opposition, and swore that rain or shine, they are going to give NUP a run for their money and finally rout them out of Mukono.

Nambooze Advises NUP Flag Rejects to Stand as People Power Candidates

Mukono National Resistance Movement (NRM) chairman Haji Haruna Ssemakula has lashed at people claiming that money changed hands to determine the outcome of the recent NRM central executive committee (CEC) elections at Kololo, saying that even if it were true, anything valuable has monetary attachment to it.

“People are dying to join the NRM CEC to be able to put a brick on the construction of the wall of development and nobody should blame those who saw it fit to sacrifice money for the cause”, Haji Ssemakula said.

In comparison, Ssemakula said, he asked subscribers to that school of thought to think about those who sacrificed life during the bush war with even no hope of any monetary payment, and urged all Ugandans to unconditionally stand behind the NRM programmes.

On the forthcoming general elections, the district NRM boss assured supporters that unlike 2021 when they embarked on the election process without prior arrangement, today they are set for the opposition, and swore that rain or shine, they are going to give NUP a run for their money and finally rout them out of Mukono.

Commenting on tomorrow’s nomination for district chairmen and councilors, he said his party is fielding a tested, service oriented, trained candidate who is known to have routed out public funds vandals, adding that all candidates contesting to work with him are a group of reliable workers all out to deliver to voters’ expectations.

He took a swipe at the Kampala Mayoral candidate for the PFF Erias Lukwago, and likened him to a seaweed that floats aimlessly with no set destination.

He said, “Lukwago is this day in the DP, in the FDC tomorrow and in another party the other day… You cannot rely on him to deliver what you ask him to bring because you can never know where he will be the next moment”.

On the NRM’s numerical strength, Semakula said with a 30-strong team at village, parish and sub-county level, preparedness for victory is sure, and appealed to ditched NUP politicians to cross over to a party where they are reliably assured of comfort.

“I welcome you all; leave the rag tag parties alone! Look at the wasted Municipality legislator who has perennially thrived on lies, say enough is enough to her. She has done enough damage to the town which has been reduced to a heap of garbage!”, he pointed out.

Semakula also appealed to NRM losers in the primary elections to come back home and join their colleagues in building the nation.
