The P7 teacher, Eunice Agunyo said Lwanga was the leading learner in group work given his smartness and ability to guide his colleagues in absence of the teacher.

According to the headmistress of the school, Rose Mweyogereze, the boy was preparing to write his final P7 examinations under index number 003169/090, and the school had a lot of hope in him owing to his extraordinary brightness in class, to such a degree that he was a reference point for his colleagues who wanted assistance in class work.

Jonathan Lwanga (14), a learner of Kisaasi Primary School in Kikaaya ward in Kawempe Division, together with his peers, sneaked to a river and engaged in a game where two of them lift the third one and he jumps down in acrobatic styles (back summer).

According to a colleague, Joseph Busuulwa, who witnessed the accident occur, they are said to have done this over and over again and in the fateful round, Lwanga jumped down, hit the ground with his head and on realizing that he was breathing with difficulty, his colleagues rushed him home where he was bundled into a car to hospital. He was however declared dead on arrival at Mulago Hospital.

Rahma Nanyonga and Loyce Pretty, the two he has been sharing a desk with in class, said they have missed a very handy friend who was a very useful asset especially in English and SST. He was buried at Kasanje in Wakiso district.
