While addressing the media on the progress of the presidential campaigns, the Electoral Commissioner chairperson, Justice Simon Byabakama on Tuesday showed dismay to some Resident District Commissioners and security officials who are blocking presidential candidates from holding their campaigns in specific areas.
Byabakama said this is wrong and castigated any person who had been involved in the vice. “I have heard of some RDCs who go on and block presidential candidates from campaigning in some places, that is none of their business, if they do not know what falls under their dockets, let them resign and go to start rearing ducks,” Justice Byabakama said.
However, just hours after his clarification, the police and its sister security organs have blocked FDC’s Nandala Mafabi from campaigning in Hoima City.
