Uganda Police has issued an official statement regarding the alleged murder of CBS reporter based in Sembabule district, Jimmy Ssekabiito.
Luke Owoyesigyire, the Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokesperson says that Ssekabiito (45), a resident of Gayaza village in Masaka district died of a natural death.
Owoyesigyire reports that today at around 6:00am around Lubaga road next to Red Cross offices, while Ssekabiito was moving on a bodaboda, he fell off and became unconscious.

“He was carried by bodaboda riders (good Samaritans) who rushed him to Lubaga Hospital wre he was pronounced dead at around 6:40am. Information reached the territorial police and immediately a team headed by the Divisional CID officer, D/ASP Sarah Kataike and the homicide team booked out to Lubaga hospital to ascertain the information,” he said.
He adds that police found Ssekabiito’s body in Lubaga Hospital mortuary and examined it but it did not have any external injuries.
“We opened up a file at Old Kampala Police to investigate the circumstances under which the deceased died. The body was further taken to the city Mortuary for postmortem examination,” he noted.
Ssekabiito is said to have come to Kampala to attend the wedding of his friend, however, he did not make it.
