Ssewanonda also hailed Dr. Muyingo for what he called a resilient, consistent and accommodative nature which he said has enabled him to set up an education legacy right from pre-primary to university level in a period of only twenty-five years.

Seeta University is set for the official opening slated August 4, 2025. As the final preparations are in high gear, its Administrator and Academic Registrar, Ronald Mbago has revealed that they have put emphasis on the teaching of science and technology courses.
Mbago made the revelation on Sunday while conducting the members of the executive committee of Seeta High Old Students Association (SHOSA) led by their chairman who is the UPDF Air Force Political Commissar, Lt. Allan Yesero Kunya around the varsity’s departments.
Explaining arrangements, Mbago disclosed that the National Council for Higher Education (NCHE) okayed the university to start teaching AI (Artificial Intelligence) as a mainstream course, and added that the university is soon signing a memorandum of understanding with undisclosed universities in Asia, the US and the UK for provision of training experts.

He said that just two weeks back, the university top management finalized a student-teacher exchange programme with Teesside University in Middlesbrough, UK. The agreement is to have the Ugandan students offering three-year programme study in Uganda for two years, and complete the final year in the UK.
“We are going to offer bachelor’s degrees and diplomas in pharmacy, law, business management, software engineering, information technology, computer science, education, nursing science, tourism and hospitality management, midwifery science, industrial mathematics, public health, biochemistry industrial science and many other disciplines,” he said.
The administrator also disclosed that in a bid to make Uganda a destination for sporting events, they are soon starting on the construction of the state-of-the-art sports facilities, adding that 20 out of the university’s 100 acres have been earmarked for adequate sports facilities.

“We also plan to construct a landmark monumental building at the apex of the hill, providing clear visibility of the entire Mukono town, to serve as the technology institute, and in the third year, we expect to have acquired a charter which will be marked alongside launching of a 500-bed teaching hospital,” he disclosed.
The SHOSA executive members’ visit to Seeta University was in preparation for the successful silver jubilee celebrations for Seeta High Schools which is underway.
The old students’ leaders also held a meeting geared at identifying ways of helping their mentor and director, the State Minister for Higher Education, Dr. John Chrysostom Muyingo to successfully organize the fete for the schools’ 25 years of existence.

Seeta University becomes the fourth university to be based in Mukono after the Anglican Church founded Uganda Christian University (UCU), Limkokwing University which is linked to the private Malaysian Limkokwing University of Cyberjaya, and Cavendish University which has a branch at Upper Kauga cell in Mukono Municipality.
SHOSA chairman Lt. Yesero Kunya spoke highly of the vision bearer of the institutions, Dr. John Chrysostom Muyingo, saying his foresightedness has seen over 20,000 old students variously placed in the job market at home and abroad.
Lt. Kunya hailed Dr. Muyingo’s dream as a response to the perennial outcry of joblessness to graduates, noting that through their association, they have managed to exploit their numerical strength to help young followers get accommodated in the job market.

Isaac Ssewanonda, an advocate of the High Court, pledged to respond to management’s endeavours to put in place enabling facilities, by bringing out to the bar well trained products matching legal demands in the region.
Ssewanonda said that the already installed equipment for the law students including the Moot court is well furnished looking far better than even the traditional courtrooms out there.
“I am impressed that the students are going to get the real feel of the court setting right at the university before joining LDC,” he said.

Ssewanonda also hailed Dr. Muyingo for what he called a resilient, consistent and accommodative nature which he said has enabled him to set up an education legacy right from pre-primary to university level in a period of only twenty-five years.
Shagah Kamira, an old student who is teaching chemistry, at one of the Seeta High School campuses expressed optimism that the university is destined to meet expected standards, reflecting the founder’s commitment to put up all prerequisites for good outputs.

Another old student, Joan Busingye, a public health specialist in the Ministry of Defence and Veteran Affairs said that as old students, they feel proud to be given the confidence to continue to be part of Seeta University, an offspring of Seeta High Schools, and pledged to inject all her expertise in the medical faculty.
