Waiswa is also said to have later asked for sh30,000 to buy the children food as they were starving. Police tracked him and found the children in his room at Nabuti.

As kidnap incidents continue to rage on, a Senior Two student of Panorama Senior School in Mukono over the weekend kidnapped two children belonging to his own sister. He however amazed residents when he asked for an initial sh30,000 to feed the children as the family looked for a bigger ransom amount which the kidnapper never specified.
Waiswa Robert, a resident of Nabuti Cell in Mukono Central Division on Friday took away the two unnamed children aged four and two years from their parents’ home at Kigunga cell in Goma Division, Mukono Municipality and confined them in a rented room in Nabuti, as their mother Marvis Iriko took a nap at around 6.00pm while the children played with their peers in the compound.
When the mother awoke and got ready to bathe her children, she then realized that they were missing, upon which she filed a report at police, prompting the police to mount a vigorous search.
Waiswa is said to have called Iriko asking for an unspecified amount of money in order to return the kids alive, or else risk getting them back dead.
The mother says the next day, she received a telephone call asking for the money. Waiswa is also said to have later asked for sh30,000 to buy the children food as they were starving. Police tracked him and found the children in his room at Nabuti.

Quizzed as to what led him into committing such a grievous crime, Waiswa said he was very poor but that he had no motive of harming the children and that he was actually feeding them well.
The children’s father, Ronald Tibesigwa however expressed dissatisfaction with her wife’s family members whom he said kept protecting Waiswa despite biting evidence by villagers who had seen him taking the children.
