Mobile Money agents operating along Nasser Road in Kampala are gripped with sorrow and fear following the tragic death of one of them, Sophia Nakiwolo who was stabbed to death by Kifeesi gangs.
Nakiwolo was heading home after a long day’s work when the tragedy occurred. Witnesses say she was trying to board a taxi late in the evening when several men surrounded her and demanded her bag. It is believed that the bag held a large amount of money, which prompted Nakiwolo to bravely refuse handing it over. Sadly, this resistance cost her life.
