There are mixed reactions in the journalism fraternity following the roaming allegations that the CBS radio news reporter from Ssembabule district, Jimmy Ssekabiito was last night murdered and dumped in Rubaga Hospital.
Alex Nsubuga, the CBS 88.8FM news editor has today’s morning confirmed his reporter’s death under mysterious circumstances.
During the CBS 89.2FM 8:00am news bulletin, Nsubuga said that Ssekabiito was allegedly taken to hospital by a bodaboda rider but premilinary reports shows that he was already dead by the time he reached the hospital.
By press time, police had not yet issued any report regarding the mysterious death of Ssekabiito.
The mysterious death of Ssekabiito comes at a time when the political atmospheres in Ssembabule district are in high gear.
Yesterday, security personnel feared live bullets in the supporters of the incumbent area Member of Parliament, Theodore Ssekikubo, leaving one person dead and others injured.
Ssekikubo identified the deceased as Alex Ssembuusi. The two camps of Ssekikubo and that of his rival, Rtd. Brig. Gen. Emmanuel Rwashande are at loggerhead, the scenario which has put the lives of their supporters at risk.
Ssembabule district Resident District Commissioner (RDC) Jane Frances Kagayi has today said that they are going to convene a district security meeting which is expected to come up with restrictions that are going to put to order the two camps.
