Working in tandem with President Museveni’s perennial advice to Ugandans to fight poverty through becoming job creators, a Mukono Stanbic Bank employee who grew up in a family of baking expertise has resolved to share her experience with other women, with a view to stimulate their hidden talents and use it to become financial giants.

Sylvia Nakibirango Kizito, a housewife and mother, has written a book she titled ‘Sweet Society – Let’s Bake With Sylvia’, a recipe book of family, love, faith and legacy, all wrapped in cakes, muffins and biscuits, an inspiration to women to awaken the hidden talents in them and develop them through baking for money.

In an interview at her home at Kabembe in Kyampisi sub-county, Mukono District on Thursday11th December 2025, Nakibirango is interesting women in taking an extra step in fighting the dependency syndrome by translating the rhetoric of ‘This is Our Time’ into real life experience through practice.

“One job is scandalous; we can all be contributors to bringing out the family – father, mother, children – let us not hide potentials from our children, everyone can bake regardless of our education levels and besides, who does not want to eat?”, Nakibirango kept questioning.

She confesses that after her life’s desires were not fully met to her expectations, she discovered her other talent and ventured into baking through which she has made a fortune which she wants to share with fellow women through her book.

She is an award winner of the Stanbic Bank Beyond Excellence Awards — Winner, Greater Kampala Region (Innovation Category, September 2024). She continues to inspire women, mothers and dreamers to find purpose in what they do by walking an extra mile to earn an extra penny.

Her book will be launched on 14th December 2025 at AZ Lounge along Wantoni-Katosi Road near Shell Katosi Road in the outskirts of Mukono town. The educational family book will sell at sh75,000.
