Three-armed suspects have been arrested following a foiled armed robbery in Katabi Town Council in Entebbe Municipality after police surrounded a house where the suspects had hidden in the ceiling.
According to Luke Owoyesigyire, the Kampala Metropolitan Police deputy spokesperson, the incident occurred on March 9, 2026, at about 3:30 a.m. in Kabaale B Ward when three men armed with pangas broke into a residence and robbed the occupant of sh570,000 and a Samsung Galaxy Note 10.
Police responded swiftly to the alarm and surrounded the house, prompting the suspects to hide in the ceiling in an attempt to evade arrest. However, officers managed to apprehend them during the operation.

One of the victims told the media on Monday morning that there was an exchange of gunfire that lasted several minutes. The victim said they had noticed four men during the incident, although police managed to arrest three of them.
The suspects have been identified as Ssekitoleko Acram, Oluka Robert, and Mbazira Bashir.

In a separate operation on March 7, 2026, security agencies also arrested a suspect linked to cattle theft in Kasanje Town Council.
The joint operation involved the Uganda Police Force, the Uganda People’s Defence Force (UPDF), and members of the local community following complaints of increased cattle theft in the area.
During patrols in crime-prone areas including Bimbi Swamp, officers recovered a white-spotted heifer believed to have been stolen.
Police arrested Zimbe Ramathan, a resident of Kyengera, who is currently detained at Kasanje Police Station and charged with cattle theft.
Police said investigations into both incidents are ongoing and commended members of the public for cooperating with security agencies, which contributed to the successful arrests.
