Such was the very unfortunate, regrettable and unpredicted sequence of the wedding and demise of Racheal Masejeso, beginning in her parents’ home at Kitwe village, Kitwe parish, Maddu sub-county in Gomba district on Friday, in the middle of the entry to her marital life with Allan Arinaitwe.
Arinaitwe, in the company of relatives and close friends, had set off from his father’s home at Kikonooka village in Maddu sub-county, to be introduced to the relatives of her new found love but, on arrival, they received the disturbing news that the bride-to-be had developed frail health conditions.
In the middle of prayers for recuperation of the bride, another piece of news started making the rounds, that the cock brought for the brother-in-law as the cultural requirements dictate, had mysteriously dropped dead.
In the ensuing state of confusion, sh50,000 was mobilized from the visiting group to settle for the dead cock that had been meant for the ‘muko’. After the procession that had developed an involuntary low mood, the entourage went back with the bride and in Maddu town where they were destined to spend the night, she said she was feeling unwell and was taken to a doctor who failed to diagnose her with hypertensia.

Celebrants said that after the couple had made their “I do” vows, she became too frail even to hold the papers and she was rushed to hospital. The best man narrated that she was administered with IVF and by Sunday morning, she had somewhat improved.
They took her to church to be prayed for and in the middle of the prayers, she collapsed, this time not to breathe again. The bereaved husband said that prior to the wedding, she had called him and told him that she was unwell, whereupon he told her that he had got some medicament.
While many think that she could have had a health problem, others think her death could be related to some form of witchcraft as Allan is alleged to have disappointed an unnamed girl he had earlier promised to wed, in preference for Racheal, who is now the deceased.
