The two suspects arrested are currently in custody and preliminary inquiries established that the deceased were brought to the suspect by two other individuals now under investigation.
The Territorial Police in Luweero district has arrested two men in connection to recovery of a human skull, bones and a decomposing body in a shrine at Kiryanyonza village, Nakikoota parish in Luwero sub-county, alleged to have been unlawfully buried, possibly in connection to ritual functions.
According to Savannah Police Region Public Relations Officer, ASP Sam Twineamazima, the identities of the two arrested suspects remain concealed, while the remains have been forwarded to Luweero Hospital mortuary for further management, and police has opened a general enquiry file following the July 31, 2025 development.
Twineamazima revealed that the two sets of human remains were recovered from separate locations within the shrine, and they included bones and a skull at one site and a decomposing body at another.

“Luweero police is continuing with thorough investigations to establish the circumstances surrounding this grave offence of disturbing the peace of the deceased and we assure the public that all responsible persons will be held accountable in accordance with the law,” the police PRO said.
He urged community members to remain calm and report any information that may assist the ongoing inquiries to Luweero police station.
