Lwandasa cautioned against acts that could fuel hatred and violence, stressing that elections should be conducted with tolerance, respect, and dialogue.
As Uganda gears up for general elections, Bishop Dr. Samuel Lwandasa has called on Christians to uphold the values of peace, reconciliation, and love, emphasizing that these virtues are crucial for national unity and stability.
Speaking on Christmas Day at Mt. Lebanon Christian Centre Church in Mukono town, the bishop reminded believers that Jesus Christ’s birth symbolizes peace and love, values that should guide the country’s political process.
Lwandasa cautioned against acts that could fuel hatred and violence, stressing that elections should be conducted with tolerance, respect, and dialogue.

He prayed for reconciliation between security operatives and political groups, urging stakeholders to prioritize human life and peaceful coexistence.
The bishop also challenged Christians to reflect on their personal conduct, calling for genuine transformation and responsible citizenship.
He encouraged Ugandans to participate in the electoral process, voting for leaders who will promote peace and development.

As the country navigates a politically sensitive period, Lwandasa’s message resonates: true celebration of Christmas is reflected in actions that promote unity, justice, love, and peace. The Electoral Commission set January 15, 2026 as the day when the general elections particularly for presidential and parliamentary will be conducted in Uganda.
