Sixteen officials from Kikuube District Local Government and its affiliated institutions have been interdicted on the orders of the Minister of Local Government, Balaam Barugahara Ateenyi.
The affected officials include district heads of department, education officials, town clerks, a sub-county chief and members of the district land board.
According to the list released, the interdicted officials are Hillary Agondeze Wiinyi, the district water engineer; Chris Kalisa, headteacher of Kiziranfumbi Secondary School; Mary Uwizira, former accountant at Buhimba Technical Institute; and Deogratius Byakagaba, the district education officer.
Others are Amon Zondera, the district inspector of schools; Joel Munyagire, the senior human resources officer; Emmy Arinaitwe, the district engineer; and John Kiburara, the district fisheries officer.
The list also names Hussein Bwami, town clerk of Kikuube Town Council; Flora Mpabaisi, town clerk of Buhimba Town Council; and Maureen Kabagenyi, the Bugambe Sub-county chief.
Denis Kirungi, the acting secretary of the District Service Commission, has also been interdicted.

Four members of the Kikuube District Land Board are affected: chairman Peter Kyamanywa and members Muzamil Balihabwe, Sarah Atugabaho and Peterson Kyomuhendo.
The interdictions affect several key departments responsible for service delivery, including water, education, engineering, fisheries, human resource management and land administration.
However, details of the specific allegations against the officials, the circumstances leading to their interdiction and the duration of the measures were not provided in the list.
Interdiction is an administrative measure that temporarily removes an officer from active duty, usually pending investigations or further administrative action. It does not, by itself, amount to a finding of guilt.
Further details from the Ministry of Local Government or Kikuube District authorities are needed to establish the reasons for the action and the next steps in the process.
