Peter Fulgensious Kirwana (16), a Senior Three student of St. Mary’s College Kisubi and daughter to Hasfah Nakayega, a widow of Seeta-Mukono, on Friday went to swim in the school swimming pool in the company of his colleagues.
On the same day, Nakayega says she received a telephone call from the school doctor who informed her that her son had got an accident while swimming and that he was in a critical condition. Minutes later she added, a doctor from Kisubi Hospital rang and informed her that her son had drowned.

She said that during the day, Kirwana had called his elder brother Emmanuel Mwandha asking for upkeep money, adding that the next news she received about him was death.
She says she was not convinced by the reason given as the cause of her son’s death and decided to seek a report from an alternative authority, whereupon the body was taken to KCCA mortuary at Mulago.
She confirmed the initial report after getting a tallying KCCA mortuary report. She narrated how she has been struggling to keep her son at school since his father’s death way back in 2012.
