Family Fails to Trace Remains of Mbale DSC Commission Boss Who Perished in YY Bus Fatal Accident

The family of Mbale District Service Commission (DSC) chairperson Canon James Musimbi who perished last week in a Mbale bound YY Bus Company that overturned and caught fire in Buikwe district are bound to conduct his burial minus his body.

Three people died instantly including James Musimbi, when the bus registration number UAV 701C overturned and caught fire at Makindu village in Najja sub-county, Buikwe district.

The driver is said to have been trying to save an errant motor cyclist when he lost control and the bus overturned.

Over fifty people were rushed to various hospitals in the area with various degrees of injury, while others survived unscathed.

According to family sources, DNA tests that were conducted on the three burnt bodies recovered from the wreckage turned negative, indicating that he could have been burnt to ashes. Only his diary and suitcase were recovered from the wreckage.

One of the bereaved family members said that they decided to execute all burial formalities although Musimbi’s remains could not be traced.
