The police in Kampala Metropolitan Area are investigating a group of pang-wielding men who attacked parts of Mukono and Wakiso districts in the early hours of Sunday, leaving residents in fear and prompting a swift response from local security forces.
Luke Owoyesigyire, the police spokesperson for Kampala Metropolitan attacks began at around 3:00am on July 27, 2025, when the assailants, armed with pangas (machetes), descended on villages in Goma Division, Mukono District.

They later extended their target to Seeta Town in Mukono in what authorities believe was a well-coordinated operation.

“Security personnel responded promptly, and the search led them to an isolated spot behind KAWACOM Company within the industrial zone. During the confrontation, one of the robbers, identified as Nsubuga, attempted to hack a police officer with a panga and in response, the officer shot and incapacitated him. Nsubuga sustained gunshot wounds to the waist and leg and was later taken to the hospital for treatment,” he narrated.
