According to Ntunda sub-county chief, Bam Robert Musisi, luckily the calamity did not claim any human fatality and no serious casualties were registered.
Although a team from Mukono District Local Government Health Department visited the site to assess damage occasioned to the health centre, no immediate physical assistance by way of tarpaulins and food rations were availed to affected families, and the sub-county chief expressed fears that short of such assistance, communities were threatened with a famine like situation.
The district health team held meeting with local leaders, chaired by the sub-county chief Musisi Bam Robert and attended by the Community Development Officer (CDO), sub-county Assistant Chief Administrative Officer (SACAO), Ntunda sub-county Chairperson, Ssenzira Philemon and area councilors among others.

Kyabazaala LC I Chairperson, Fred Ojambo was concerned that although the team was only concerned about the destroyed health centre, a broader impact of the disaster on the community included loss of shelters, food and other property for the residents, and appealed for assistance in those areas as well.
Musisi emphasized the importance of proactive planning and joint leadership in disaster response, saying, “While we thank God no lives were lost, this is a wake-up call to build resilience. We must now focus on ensuring continuity of health services and the general well-being of people.”
Rose Mugerwa Nassali, the Assistant In-Charge of Kyabazaala Health Centre III reported that the facility was unoccupied at the time of the disaster, which lessened damage occasioned.
The Chairperson LCIII, Ssenzira Philemon commended Mukono District health technical team, led by Assistant District Health Officer Isaac Dumba, for their timely intervention.
He assured the community that both local and district leaders would work hand-in-hand to restore the facility. “We are committed to mobilizing resources to ensure the roofing is replaced and services resume fully,” he affirmed.
